An Update & Things to Come

Hello out there gentle readers! We’ve hit mid-October now and Phoenix still has only been flirting with fall weather. Such is life here in the Valley of the Sun. Our Ladies Night event last month was a roaring success! Everyone who came out had a great time, whether they were crafting, playing Magic: The Gathering, Cards Against Humanity, or just hanging out. We snapped some photos, so feel free to check them out here.  One attendee even brought her pet sugar glider and was kind enough to let others hold him! Some new folks joined us after the event, too. So look for fresh faces at our upcoming events.

We were also able to co-ordinate with Tonalea Elementary School in order to deliver the supplies and funds raised at our event back in August! It was a great morning and felt wonderful to be able to help them out with much needed supplies and even another kit for their budding robotics program!

Coming up in November, we’re planning another clean up event at the Hasaayampa River Preserve and also volunteering at the Herberger Theatre Festival of the Arts. On the 14th of November, some of us will be heading out the 5th annual PBS Nerd Walk . It’s Eight, Arizona PBS’ entry into the ASU Homecoming Parade and it’s always a great time, nerding out with other PBS fans and chanting pi to 5th digit. Registration is totally free, so if you come out, be sure to look for us – we’d love to meet you!

Also on the 14th, we’ve been invited to Samurai Comics’ LGBTQ Fair being held from 11-5 at their Camelback location in central Phoenix. It’s still in the planning stages, so if you have ideas on good groups you’d like to see represented, contact the store & ask for Clarissa.

Interspersed with these events – craft days! We are gearing up for Phoenix Comicon’s Fan Fest the first weekend in December. We’re really looking forward to it, and we can’t wait to help you out with handcrafted holiday gift ideas! They could even be something for you, because we love helping the community, but we’re also firm believers in the “treat yo’self” philosophy.

As you can see, we’ve got a full slate heading into the fourth quarter. Please keep track of us on social media for opportunities to connect with us! See you soon…
